found poem at Judaculla Rock

The soapstone boulder was named

 for the giant Tsul`kälû´,

which means "slant eyed giant"

who was reported to control the weather,

was the steward of all hunted animals,

and could leap from mountain to mountain.

It is said

that the strange 7-fingered globs on the boulder

were from the seven-fingered giant's hands

where he braced himself after a stumble from such a jump.

Despite being a grotesque,

hair-covered giant with demigod powers

 and seven-fingered hands for feet,

 he eventually took a Cherokee wife

and became one of the tribes earliest ancestors.

freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose

Constitutional rights are useful up to a point, but they do not serve to guarantee much more than what could be called the bourgeois conception of freedom. According to the bourgeois conception, a "free" man is essentially an element of a social machine and has only a certain set of prescribed and delimited freedoms; freedoms that are designed to serve the needs of the social machine more than those of the individual.

i've poeticized a prose intro. to a news story

LOVE FOR SALE Their stories came out slowly, even hesitantly, at first. Then in a rush.

One female entrepreneur recounted how she had been propositioned  by a Silicon Valley venture capitalist while seeking a job with  him,  which she did not land after rebuffing  him. Another  showed the increasingly suggestive messages she had received from a start-up investor.  And one chief executive described  how she had faced numerous sexist comments from an investor while raising money  for her online community website.

What happened afterward was often just as disturbing, the women told The New York Times. Many times, the investors’ firms and colleagues  ignored or played down what had happened  when            the                 situations                                  were                                            brought                                                          to                                                                                               their                                                                       attention. Saying anything, the women were warned, might lead-------------------> to ostracism.

Now  some of these female entrepreneurs  have decided  to take that risk.                    women were always in charge and better off                              when they ran the kitchens                                                         (  -from the editor -  ) ....

The feminist error was to embrace the value of the workplace as greater than the value of the home. Feminism has endorsed the public sphere as inherently more constitutive of women's worth than the private sphere. Feminists have established as their criterion of success and self-worth an equal representation with men at the top of the career ladder. The consequence of this feminist scale of values is a terrible and unjust devaluation of women who work at home.
