Interesting quote. Eagleton's writing on the neo-atheists nearly impressed me, but tossing Bertrand Russell in the same boat as say Dawkins seemed a bit...apparatchik-like. Eagleton seems sort of defeatist, however--another bitter old ex-marxist-- .
