Fiction writers
Tell lies for a living
And it means they never
Have to apologize

Politicians do too
But they have to pretend
That their lies were
True when they told them

o my gosh I'm a little embarrassed some of the posts on this blog have gotten a little raunchy of late I guess if there's going to be a reading public I should seek to edify rather than simply give vent to my tragic curmudgeon voice from within

you're right about novelists though

it is the craft of the elegant lie

rather than a lie for some assumed power grab
or financial good

the elegant lie
always the better choice

welcome to de gustibus

which is short for de gustibus non disputandem est

which means

in matters of taste there is no disputing

Thank you for the welcome. This won't help your embarrassment any, but I've been reading for quite some time. I do enjoy the blog.

However, as far as writers go, it's not so much the lies, but the truths told with grace and understanding. At least that's what I've been thinking lately.
